Hardware keyboard shortcuts

I know this might be something not really needed for most users, but I'll leave it here for better times (I'll try to do my best to Find a solution myself meanwhile!).

I'm a somewhat hardcore user of wireless Bluetooth keyboards on Android. I like it, it brings me the joy of tactile feedback & faster typing, however, useful shortcuts are always a pain. So far only browser apps allow for "mouseless" or "toucshcreenless" interaction, as in opening a new tab, shifting input focus to omnibox, switching between tabs, closing tabs, scrolling pages & etc.

It would have been awesome to have following key combos:

  • ˋCtrl + Nˋ for new tasks
  • ˋCtrl + Sˋ for saving tasks in editing mode
  • ˋCtrl + Tˋ to open due date time picker
  • ˋCtrl + Dˋ for marking tasks as complete in editing mode.

I think that's enough to start with.

Thank you!

writing out 20-30 tasks at once

@jeffwjensen so far I have achieved this by using a wrapper script with printf/read sequences that puts a VTODO entry directly onto my server (radicale).

Beware: if you're about to go down the same road, you might face this problem; to work this around I've put a 10 minute offset between start and due date.

Cheers!
